According to the United Nations Development Progamme (UNDP), Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world towards the effects of climate change with immediate threats to water, energy and food security.
Women Engineers Pakistan is marking September as "Women Against Climate Change" month, where we will be raising awareness regarding the issue through both digital and physical means. If you wish to partner, or join us in our campaign, please write to us at info@womenengineers.pk or ramla.qureshi@womenengineers.pk
UPDATE: "This is not a partisan debate; it is a human one. Clean air and water, and a liveable climate are inalienable human rights. And solving this crisis is not a question of politics. It is our moral obligation." - Leonardo DiCaprio
16 - 23 September was marked as "Global Goals Week." All through this month, the Women Engineers Pakistan has been campaigning for awareness towards the hazards of climate change, especially from the viewpoint of Pakistani women. Our campaign is titled "Women Against Climate Change" and was received amazingly all over the country and beyond. This week, we partnered with Pakistan's voice for The Global Goals in order to bring forward the actual voice of extremely talented Pakistani women working for a better, safer Pakistan. Here is what a few of these experts had to say regarding the issue.
